Long Beach

Today is Long Beach day =) Its quite a far trip from Westwood there. Gotta take bus and then change to their subway and gotta change another train. So we decided to get the 1 day pass which allow us unlimited travel for the day On the subway Find this path very nice, with tall coconut tress parallel by the side We settle on a whale watching trip which is around 2 hours where a cruise boat will bring us all the way out to the deep sea. The ticket is quite expensive, USD45 per pax @@ Guess each hand belongs to who?? Tail of the killer whale Some photos on board .. while waiting for boat to start cruising ?? Nice lighthouse Night falls, Metro ride back home .. Our favourite restaurant, eating spicy tofu soup and hotplates for dinner .. great that this korean restaurant opens til late at night.

San Francisco

When we finally reached San Francisco, the sky was already dark. And we were all soooooo tired. Best part is the hotel that we booked, changed their name, and we had a hard time finding it. To make the situation worst, the weather was so cold that when I step out of the car to source for the hotel, I was shivering from the freezing wind. After we parked our car and settling down in hotel, we were so tired that we decided to rest. Initially wanting to buy a cake to celebrate Frances birthday, and the guys went to source while she bathed. But mayb cos its too late, couldnt find even a slice .. lol .. so we had to postpone the celebration. The 2nd morning, we head to our first stop, wanting to see the famous Golden Gate Bridge, only to realise its so foggy that almost the whole bridge couldnt be seen. And the weather is still soooo cold. Goodness ... isnt it summer then?? 10-11degree for summer ..?? We were shivering and jumping when taking photos, had to hide our hands inside pocket Squeezing to keep warm?? haha .. The almost disappearing Golden Gate Bridge at background Do-Re-Mi-Fa ?? Hehe .. The $5 Dim Sum buffet at Chinatown. Was quite worth it .. food is normal, but well, we had our stomach filled =) And we had a 'summan' as we didnt put enough parking credits .. -_-" But we didnt pay for it til now ... Public Toilet at Twin Peak. This place also another super cold place ... wind was suuuuuper strong. Me and grace hiding behind the wall and dustbin, from the strong strong wind. Suppose to be able to see the whole San Frans from Twin Peak, but was so foggy tat day that we see nothing much .. btw, San Frans is very small only .. so yah, can see from Twin Peak Another special feature of San Frans is that slopes are everywhere .. when i say slope, its really steep. Driving there like playing roller coaster .. haha .. Living in San Frans can be quite healthy, haha .. if u dont own a car, walk up and down the slopes a few times daily .. good exercise wor At near evening, we made another trip to a scenic spot and luckily, the fog cleared and we had a nice view of the Golden Gate Bridge =) Thats the thickness of each cable that supported the Bridge Nice group photo, but bit dark There's a path that lead us up the bridge where a passanger way was available for us to walk. Some people tried walking from 1 end to the other .. haha .. we were too lazy .. so just walked a bit take photo then U-Turn liao .. City Hall in the Day and Night. Our dinner, Fish & Chips and Calamari, bought from Fisherman Wharf. Though we manage to find a parking lot there, the dinner place was full of ppl, so we decide to dabao and eat on the car instead. Maria and her maid, Molly ... lol :p A group photo in our hotel room. haha ... fred looks quite squashed in here .. lol Went to Cheesecake Factory finally, and they're famous for their Godiva Cheesecake. Haha .. we all ordered a slice each + a drink and thats our brunch. And even til dinner, we're still quite full. Haha .. sinful heaps of whip cream and cheesecakes ... My cup of Hot Cafe Mocha French Toast that Molly ordered .. was too full from the cheesecake tat the French Toast had to be dabao away .. Icant really rem the taste of it .. haha .. too obsessed with the cheesecake liao Aiyo ... so sweet again .. 你一口，我一口 -_-" ... lol Hmm .. weird, how come my face like so red here .. machiam sunburn .. Heez .. we applied our kiasu spirit there in San Frans =P. While shopping, me and Frances spotted a huge lorry parked by the roadside, giving out free greentea samples. Unlike singapore, who give u sample to try in those mini mini cups, here give samples in packs of bottles .. haha .. and guess what i saw, the locals have more kiasu spirit then us .. haha .. Forever 21 outlet .. I fell in love with this brand since this usa trip .. lucky there are branches in singapore =) Macy's Shopping center .. thats where the Cheesecake factory in San Frans was located At Pier 39, yatch club Lombard Street, the crookiest street on earth. Its said to travel from top to bottom, it'll take around 30mins .. lol .. we didnt try lah, only take photos. But a lot of tourist really go there to just try driving down, tink the residents there also sian, everyday open door, outside flooded with tourist .. haha

Yosemite

Lucky us, we actually rented for a small car, but cos all small car was taken, we were upgraded to a bigger car, Toyota Camry, and still paying the small car rental .. hehe .. =) Great to have Camry with us, nice to drive and stable and more fuel economy. And looking at it, made me miss my dear car back in Singapore .. haha .. same color same brand, just different model Grace joined us for this Yosemite + San Frans trip as she got a quiz the week before, can't join her housemates for the trip. We setoff early in the morning at around 7am. Frances started off driving and I took over after around an hour of driving. And thats me driving!! Sun quite glaring, so had my Oakley on. So while I drive, frances got the chance to snap photos. Freeway to Yosemite And guess what? Look at the temperature outside! Its getting hotter and hotter .. from a cooling LA morning of ard 20+ degree to ... And look at this .. haha .. the brudders caught KO-ed at the back seat .. lol .. Topping up petrol .. the petrol topping system there in USA is different from Singapore here. Here we top, know how much liao then go in counter n pay .. there in USA, we gotta go in the counter, and pay then can top up the petrol. If didnt top up as much as what u pay, then have to go in again and collect the changes. Look at how bright the sun was .. When we got off the car wanting to top up petrol, we were like melting liao .. so hot!!! So we decide to get some cold drinks .. look at the can of mango juice .. so big and only at 99 cents .. And finally we reached the top after a long curvy road drive up .. superb scenary =)Maybe its highland, so its not as hot as at the petrol station there Up there, squirrels are everywhere. So cute!! Nice view, thanks to another tourist there, helping us take this photo .. then after that we helped their family to take also. Washburn Point and Glacier Point Came across this beautiful scenary while driving to leave Yosemite .. so decide to follow other cars and stop by the road side to take photos And there, we saw this river which look so cooling and appealing under such a hot weather .. seeing other people playing in the river, we decide to cool our legs in there also ;p See the water is so clear ... so shiok lor, when first step into it .. but the stones were quite slippery, i kicked a rock and toe was quite painful, but not as bad as grace, tink she got a cut on the toe. You must be thinking why lost when we have a GPS .. well, no GPS signal detected in the Park .. according to my senior, the trees there block all the signals .. -_-" So we went round and round til finally we saw a visitor's center and got the correct direction then we manage to get out of the park. By then, we had spent nearly 1+hours. Decide to have dinner at KFC. Next to it were A&W which we were so excited to see and wanted to eat. However, the menu there was different from what we used to have in Singapore. So we settled for KFC instead.
